I arrived in Munich during the last weekend of Oktoberfest, a 16-day festival held in the city each year. At first, I felt overwhelmed by the amount of people at the train station and in the streets. I went to Oktoberfest my first morning in Munich and walked around for a couple of hours. I ate a pretzel the size of my head and enjoyed people watching. While I didn’t spend much time at Oktoberfest, I’m glad that I was able to experience it at least once in my life.
Once the crowds cleared out of Munich, I was able to enjoy the quiet side of the city. One of my favorite activities was hiking to the top of a big hill at Olympic Park and getting a 360-degree view of the city. I’m a big fan of cityscapes.
Out of all of the cities I visited, I was looking forward to visiting Munich the most. It definitely exceeded any expectation I could have had.
Enjoy these photographs from my time in Munich.
